The Taunton Iron Works
This is a record of the old Iron Works in Taunton in the 1600’s taken from The New England Historical and Genealogical Register. It contains references to James Burt, who was one of our ancestors, his nephew Richard Burt, and to John Hathaway (herein spelled Hatheway), another of ancestors. James Burt was a part owner of the Iron Works. John Hathaway, as an official of the town of Taunton, witnessed one of the documents. These references are highlighted in the text.
