Statue of John Mason
Statue of John Mason, who led the combined native and English forces in the Pequot War. Mason also played significant roles in developing the Connecticut Colony, including as a partner to Deacon Edward Stebbins in the expedition to western Massachusetts in 1632 that acquired sufficient corn from the natives to avert starvation and death of the English in the winter season.
