Her tombstone gives her age as seventy-five years, indicating she was born in 1654. All her children were adults, and several died before her. John lived another six years. Mary Bennet Bailey headstone Mary died following childbirth on October 12, 1736, in Little Compton. Her grave is in the Little Compton Old Burial Grounds. Mary Church Wood Tombstone Mary died on November 11, 1748. Her headstone reads: “In Memory of Mary Widow of Lieu John Wood Died Nov ye 11 1748 Aged about 89 years.” This would indicate she was born in 1668. However, Hingham’s original records show she was born on March 26, 1666, and baptized on April 1, 1666. This means she lived to be ninety-one. Mary Wood Bailey Mary died on October 7, 1645, at the age of fifty-four. Her headstone reads: “In Memory of Mary ye Wife of Lieutenant Thomas Bailey died October 1745 in ye 54th year of her age.” She died two weeks after her youngest son, implying they died from an infectious disease. Tombstone of Isaac Hathaway Jr. Isaac is buried beside his wife in Cheshire. His marker reads: “Isaac, In Memory of Isaac Hathaway who was born July 29, 1729, and departed this life December 25, 1798.” The cemetery is located on the left side of Jenks Road to Stafford Hill, a short distance from the junction of Harbor Rd and Jenks Road. Tombstone of Phoebe Bailey Hathaway Phoebe is buried in the Baptist Cemetery in Cheshire, Massachusetts, located close to the Adams border.
